How the development process works
Once the brief is agreed, we start working on the formula.
The process includes:
- selecting active ingredients
- developing texture and sensory feel
- tuning the stability of the formula
- creating test samples
- adjustments based on your feedback
We provide samples for testing and then refine the formula to its final version.
As a result, you receive a product ready for certification and manufacturing.
Pricing and what is included
Formula development and sample creation is a separate, paid stage. The base price for development starts at 1000 € per product.
The service includes: development of an individual formula, selection of ingredients, creation and fine-tuning of samples, and preparation of the formula for certification.
The final price depends on the complexity of the product, the number of iterations and the requirements for the composition. After the brief is confirmed, we prepare an individual quotation.
Formula, rights and confidentiality
Once development is complete, you receive the formula in the working format required for production and certification — usually as a PIF document with ingredient concentration ranges in accordance with EU requirements. The formula can be used for production at Acnova Oy, while the protection of the formula and the stability of the product are ensured.
If needed, the formula can be bought out into full ownership — the terms for transferring the rights are agreed individually.
If you already have a ready formula, we sign an NDA before starting. We then analyse the formula, check compliance with EU requirements, assess the possibility of production and calculate the cost and timeline.
