Quality in private label cosmetics

Quality is a system: clear specifications, controlled raw materials, compatible packaging, documented production and a repeatable process. Acnova Oy builds private label production around these principles.

Key points

  • Raw materials are selected from documented and qualified suppliers.
  • Production follows approved formulas and controlled work instructions.
  • Finished goods are checked against specifications, packaging and labelling requirements.
  • Traceability supports complaint handling and repeat production.

Quality control in production

The following procedures are in place at our site:

  • pH measurement and control for every production batch
  • retention of an archive sample from every batch produced
  • production documentation maintained for every formula
  • internal control of conformity with declared properties

All mixers, homogenisers and other production equipment are CE-certified and operated in accordance with European equipment safety standards.

Documentation and raw materials

We work only with verified European raw material suppliers.

For every ingredient we keep a document archive that includes:

  • certificates of analysis (CoA)
  • specifications
  • declarations of conformity
  • safety data sheets (SDS)

All documentation is organised and kept in the company archive.

Product safety and CPSR

Every new cosmetic product undergoes a mandatory safety assessment before it can be placed on the EU market.

We send the formulas to an independent European laboratory to prepare a CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report) — a safety report in line with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.

Only after a positive assessment can the product be notified in the CPNP and released for sale.

For our clients, we always prepare a PIF (Product Information File) for the products we manufacture.

Traceability and archiving

Every production batch has a unique batch number, production date, raw material information and control parameters. Archive samples are kept for possible analysis and quality confirmation on request. This ensures transparency and protects the interests of our clients and end consumers.

Independent laboratory testing

Where necessary, we arrange microbiological tests, stability tests, challenge tests and dermatological tests. We work only with EU-accredited laboratories.

Manufacturing in Finland

Having production based in Finland means:

  • compliance with strict European norms
  • quality control at EU level
  • the possibility of “Made in Finland” labelling
  • transparent processes

A responsible approach to quality

For us, quality is not only about meeting regulatory requirements, but also about our clients' brand reputation.

We understand that in contract cosmetics manufacturing, trust is built on a systematic approach, transparency and documented confirmation of every step.

Frequently asked questions

Product type, intended use, estimated volume, packaging preferences, target markets and any existing materials or formulas.

Yes. We can start from a concept and develop the formula or material selection with you.

Because MOQ depends on product type, material, packaging and production planning. We provide a realistic assessment after the brief.
