Indicative volumes
Exact figures depend on the product, packaging and raw materials, so the values below are indicative only. When using a ready base, the minimum volume can start from around 50–200 units. If the formula is developed from scratch, the minimum volume is usually around 10 kg as a guide. A typical test launch is about 100–500 units.
Approximate launch cycle
- Brief and project start — after terms are agreed.
- Development and samples — about 1 month (up to 2 rounds of adjustments).
- Testing and production preparation — about 1.5 months (CPSR and, if needed, a Challenge test; ingredient procurement, packaging and labels in parallel).
- Production and filling of the batch.
On average, launching the first batch takes about 3–6 months from the first contact. If the formula already exists, the timeline is noticeably shorter and depends mainly on packaging and certification.
